JoAnn’s life was filled with love, service, and a deep commitment to helping those around her, and her legacy will certainly live on in the hearts of many.

A Life Well-Lived

Born to the late Walter and Edna Rockholt, JoAnn spent her early years in Chattanooga, where she would eventually become a cherished figure in her neighborhood. A proud graduate of Central High School’s class of 1952, JoAnn went on to work for many years for Dr. Bill Weathers, where she made lasting connections with the families she served.

Family Ties

JoAnn was not only dedicated to her work but also to her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Bobby L. Miller and her brother Don Rockholt. She leaves behind a close-knit family that includes her three children—Angie Miller (Bud) Lewallen, Jeff (Debbie) Miller, and Kelley Miller Carter—who all reside in Chattanooga. Her love extended to her four grandchildren: Tiffany Givens (Brian), Meredith Roberts (Colby), Bailey Wamp, and Parker Wamp. JoAnn was also a proud great-grandmother to three little ones: Ethan Givens, Emily Givens, and Lucy Roberts. Her brother Gary Rockholt (Theresa), along with several nieces and nephews, also survive her, keeping the Rockholt family bond strong.

A Heart for Service

JoAnn was more than just a family-oriented woman. She placed immense value on giving back to her community. For years, she volunteered with Scenic City Friends and the Ronald McDonald House, selflessly dedicating her time and energy to help families in need. As an active member of Spring Creek Road Baptist Church, JoAnn was not only a pillar in her faith community but also a source of inspiration for many.

Final Farewell

JoAnn’s life journey was honored with funeral services scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on Friday, March 14, at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Rev. Sterling Jetton will be officiating, ensuring that her life and legacy are celebrated with grace and remembrance. A graveside committal service is set to follow at 2 p.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery, where JoAnn will find her eternal rest.

Paying Respects

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. This will be a special time for loved ones to gather, share stories, and remember the incredible person JoAnn was.

Honoring JoAnn’s Legacy

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial contributions to be made to the Ronald McDonald House located at 200 Central Ave., Chattanooga, or online, and these donations will certainly help continue the work that was so close to JoAnn’s heart.
