A Tribute to a Beloved Community Member, Ana Milta Toro de Torres

Chattanooga, TN – The city of Chattanooga mourns the loss of one of its beloved community members. Ana Milta Toro de Torres, 85, passed away on February 28, 2024. Born on May 2, 1938, to the late Monserrate Toro and Rosa Julia Lugo in San German, Puerto Rico, Ana was a cherished personality in the community.

A Devout Member of the Church

A devout Christian, Ana was a devoted member of the Primera Iglesia Bautista Hispana de Red Bank, also known as the Red Bank Baptist Hispanic Church, for 33 years. Her connection with the church was deeply rooted in her faith, which supported her throughout her life, making her a source of inspiration for many.

Diligent Worker and a Passionate Home Maker

Ana held a sturdy work ethic, working for Wolfe Services for 20 years and then moving to ERMC Janitorial Services, where she provided her services for another 10 years. Apart from her professional life, Ana cherished her domestic life even further. She was a wonderful cook and held a deep-seated passion for planting flowers. Her love for nurturing blooms filled her yard with lively colors, reflecting her rich personality.

A Cherished Family Woman

Ana’s love for her family was immense. Survived by her husband of 65 years, E. Ismael Torres, her children; Ismael Torres, Izzette Torres, Ivette (Harold) Diaz, Daisy (John) Roach, and Lizette Torres, Ana is remembered as a loving wife and a supportive mother. She leaves behind a grand legacy with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who reflect the lessons of love and loyalty she taught them.

Service Details

There will be a celebration of Ana’s life held at the Red Bank Baptist Church, located at 4000 Dayton Blvd. Red Bank, TN 37415, on March 9th. The family will receive friends from 1–2:45 p.m., and the service will begin at 3 p.m. with a reception to follow.

A Stalwart Pillar of the Community

Ana’s departure has left a significant void in the hearts of many. Her dedication, love, and unwavering support for her family and friends are the hallmarks of her

legacy. She will be remembered as a stalwart pillar of the community, whose kindness and generosity touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Throughout her life, Ana exemplified the values of compassion, resilience, and faith. Her unwavering commitment to her church, her diligent work ethic, and her profound love for her family serve as enduring reminders of the impact one individual can have on those around them.

As the community comes together to honor Ana’s memory and celebrate her life, let us reflect on the profound influence she had on our lives and the legacy of love and kindness she leaves behind.
