Chattanooga, TN – The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) beach volleyball team is celebrating the academic success of its players as four members have been named to the CSC Academic All-District Team. This recognition highlights their dedication to both sport and academics, with the announcement revealing that Neva Clark, McKenna Faychak, Maddie Lecik, and Corina Vale have each earned a spot on this prestigious team.

Notably, this marks the second consecutive year that UTC’s beach volleyball program has achieved the remarkable feat of having four honorees in the same year. Clark, Faychak, and Lecik have also made history as the first-ever two-time CSC Academic All-District recipients in the program’s history, cementing their legacy within the team.

To receive such honors, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher while actively participating in at least 70% of team-scoring events. This rigorous standard underscores the academic rigor that these athletes uphold alongside their athletic commitments.

Individual Achievements

Neva Clark has excelled on the court, finishing the season with a 23-7 record and a perfect 10-0 in OVC play. She has been recognized as the 2025 OVC Player of the Year and Pair of the Year for the third consecutive time. Clark also holds the title of the all-time winningest player in UTC program history with 76 career victories. Academically, she boasts a cumulative GPA of 3.772 while pursuing a Master’s degree in Management, having previously earned her degree in Exercise & Health Science.

McKenna Faychak also delivered an impressive performance, ending the 2025 season with a personal-best record of 23-6 (9-1 OVC) and was named to the Dean’s List with a cumulative GPA of 3.937. Similarly, Maddie Lecik matched her 23-6 record and earned a spot on the First Team All-OVC while maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.941 in Criminal Justice. Lecik has been recognized on the Dean’s List and AD Honor Roll for her academic efforts this season.

Corina Vale contributed significantly to the team’s success with a commendable 23-7 record (10-0 OVC) and earned accolades as part of the OVC Pair of the Year for the second consecutive season. Vale has a GPA of 3.577, reflecting her commitment to maintaining high academic standards.

Upcoming NCAA Tournament

The Chattanooga beach volleyball team is gearing up to compete in the 2025 NCAA Beach Volleyball Tournament, where they will face No. 1 seeded UCLA on May 2, 2025. This will be their second consecutive year appearing in the NCAA Tournament after making their debut in 2024. The match against UCLA will be streamed live on ESPN2 and ESPN+, providing fans with the opportunity to support the Mocs from afar.

The NCAA Tournament is scheduled to take place at Gulf Beach Place in Gulf Shores, Alabama, from May 2 to May 4, 2025, and hosted by UAB. The Mocs concluded the season with a record of 26-5 and successfully held an undefeated record in the OVC at 10-0.
