Chattanooga, TN – The community is mourning the loss of Sheila Lynn Brown Clark, who passed away on January 17, 2025, at the age of 58. Known for her warm heart and unwavering dedication to her family, Sheila’s legacy of compassion will forever be etched in the hearts of all who knew her.
A Life Full of Love and Laughter
Born on February 26, 1966, in Hialeah, Florida, Sheila was the beloved daughter of Martin and Lynn Brown. At only three years old, her family made the move to Chattanooga, where she grew up and flourished. She never shied away from making friends and quickly became a social butterfly during her school years. Proudly serving as a member of the Tyner High School Class of 1984, she majored in Social Studies, laying the groundwork for her meaningful career in nursing.
After graduating, Sheila pursued her passion for helping others by studying nursing at Chattanooga State, becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Her compassionate approach quickly earned her a stellar reputation, first serving in pediatrics and later working at Chattanooga International Medicine under Dr. Patrick Ryan. However, her life took an unexpected turn when she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in early 2002.
Facing Challenges with Courage
Despite her diagnosis, Sheila remained positive and lived life to the fullest. She devoted her time to her family and friends, making cherished memories at every given opportunity. Her love for family was profound, especially when it came to her eight grandchildren, whom she adored. Whether it was traveling, shopping, or simply hosting family gatherings, Sheila relished every moment surrounded by her loved ones.
Sheila shared a strong bond with her husband, Jason Clark. Caring for her through thick and thin, Jason was her partner for 23 years, dedicated to ensuring she felt loved and supported. Together, they raised two sons, Justin and Tyler Moller, and welcomed a step-daughter, Caitlyn Clark, into their family.
Sheila’s family tree also flourished with eight wonderful grandchildren: Braedyn, Lindsay, Lily, Maverick, Molly, Jaxon, Parker, and Laney. Each grandchild held a special place in her heart, and she looked forward to every moment spent with them. Along with her family, Sheila leaves behind a cherished community of friends, including lifelong friends Dottie Ingle Willmore, Amy Weems, and Susie Magnuson.
A Grateful Heart and a Lasting Impact
Throughout her illness, Sheila expressed gratitude for the support from her friends and loved ones, as well as the exceptional care from Dr. Forrest Sowell and the team at Chattanooga Internal Medicine. Though she couldn’t attend church services in person, Sheila made it a point to stay connected with her church family at Maple Grove Baptist through live feeds, demonstrating her unwavering faith even in challenging times.
As the family prepares to honor Sheila’s memory, they request that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to local Humane Societies or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. These charitable causes were close to Sheila’s heart, reflecting her love for animals and children alike.
Celebration of Life
Friends and family are invited to gather on Saturday, February 1, from 1-4 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home for a visitation. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 4 p.m., led by Pastor Ronnie Dotson. The arrangements are being handled by Turner Funeral Home at the Highway 58 Chapel.
Sheila Lynn Brown Clark may no longer be with us in body, but her spirit of love, generosity, and compassion will live on through the countless memories she created and the lives she touched. In every laugh, every hug, and every story shared, Sheila’s legacy will forever shine bright in the hearts of those she loved.
