Chattanooga, Tennessee – Two men have been arrested for their involvement in a shooting that occurred late Saturday night outside a bar on Rossville Boulevard, resulting in one fatality and two injuries. The Chattanooga Police Department (CPD) confirmed that a 33-year-old man was killed in the incident, while a 44-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries and a 29-year-old man was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The incident unfolded when the three victims were in a Nissan Frontier truck and entered the parking lot of a bar. Without provocation, the suspects, identified as 19-year-old Roberto Carlos Meja-Chakate and 23-year-old Jerry Juarez-Bernabe, fired into the vehicle. Following the shots, the driver attempted to escape the scene but lost control and crashed shortly thereafter. Emergency medical services from Hamilton County transported the two injured individuals to the hospital.

The suspects fled the scene in a dark gray Nissan Altima, which was later located in East Ridge. While trying to evade capture on foot, both suspects were apprehended by law enforcement officers shortly after. They are currently facing serious charges, including First Degree Murder, and have been detained at the Hamilton County Jail and Detention Center.

The Chattanooga Police Department is actively investigating the shooting and is encouraging anyone who may have information related to the incident to reach out to their Homicide Tip Line at 423-643-5100. The CPD aims to gather as much information as possible to ascertain the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
