Each of their stories is woven into the rich tapestry of our city’s history, and their legacies will surely live on in the hearts of those who knew them.

Remembering Karen Anne Hopper Liner

Born on November 8, 1973, Karen Anne Hopper Liner graced the world with her presence for more than five decades. Sadly, she passed away on January 27, 2025. Karen was the beloved daughter of David and Margaret Hopper and cherished sister to Andrew Hopper. Karen’s life was filled with love, laughter, and countless memories that she created with her family and friends. Her spirit was unmistakably vibrant, and her kindness towards others made a profound impact on those around her.

Celebrating the Life of Carolyn Genevra Coop Biggerstaff

Born on September 26, 1945, in Chattanooga to Leander Morrow Coop and Genevera Crawley, Carolyn’s journey was marked by her unwavering strength and a heart full of love. She left behind a legacy of compassion that resonates through the lives she touched along the way. Her presence is deeply missed, yet her memory remains strong in the hearts of her loved ones.

A Fond Farewell to Walter Puckett III

It’s hard to find a heart as big as that of Walter Puckett III. A steadfast resident of Chattanooga, Walter was a highly respected cardiologist who served the community for many years with dedication and warmth. Surrounded by his loving wife Linda and family, Walter passed away on January 31, 2024. His legacy is not only one of professional excellence but also one of personal kindness that intertwined him with the lives of countless patients and their families. Walter’s contributions to heart health will be remembered as a shining example for future generations.

Tragic Loss of Brianna Ne’Shae Harmon

The community also mourns the untimely passing of Brianna Ne’Shae Harmon. At just 25 years old, Brianna departed this life on October 10, 2024, in Chattanooga. Born on December 4, 1998, to Alexia Taylor and Carvin Harmon, Brianna was known for her bright smile and contagious spirit. Her journey was just beginning, yet her impact on the lives she encountered will last an eternity. The sorrow felt by those who loved her is palpable, and she will surely be remembered fondly as a beacon of light in their lives.

Honoring Dr. Joseph “Pete” Earl Kelley Jr.

Dr. Joseph “Pete” Earl Kelley Jr. was a prominent figure in the Chattanooga community, known for his tireless work as a pediatric surgeon. Born on January 30, 1960, in Knoxville, TN, Pete spent most of his life in Chattanooga, where he made quite an impact. He graduated from Chattanooga City High School at 16 and went on to attend the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga, rising through the ranks to become president of his fraternity and the Student Government Association. After a successful medical education, he practiced for a remarkable 26 years at Erlanger Hospital.

Sadly, Pete left us on November 6, 2024, in Signal Mountain, TN. A devoted family man, he was married to JoEllen for 36 years, providing unwavering love and support to their three daughters: Miranda, Laura “Michelle”, and Liz. Pete’s legacy lives on through his daughters and two beautiful granddaughters, Charlotte Jo O’Dell, and Elizabeth O’Dell. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Pete can be made to Project Access, a local organization that provides health care services to low-income, uninsured residents.

As the community of Chattanooga pauses to reflect on the lives of these four remarkable individuals, their memories will forever remain in our hearts, reminding us to cherish each moment with our loved ones and to make a difference in the lives of others.
