Jazeli Vandenburgh Joins from USF
Jazeli Vandenburgh, a five-foot-eight defensive specialist and libero from Murrieta, California, has committed to play for Chattanooga. Vandenburgh previously played for USF, where she was instrumental in helping the team secure the 2024 American Athletic Conference (AAC) regular season title. During her freshman year with USF, she participated in 24 matches, recording a total of 32 digs, 11 aces, and one assist. Vandenburgh’s volleyball journey began at Murrieta Valley High School, where she left an impressive legacy, concluding her varsity career with a 62-29 record. She earned multiple accolades, including First Team All-League selections and the Varsity Defensive Player of the Year honors. Additionally, she was recognized as a member of the 2023 Southwest Freeway All-Tournament Team and received the 2023 Varsity Nighthawk Award during her senior year. Born on July 1, 2006, she is the daughter of John and Niki Vandenburgh and has an interest in majoring in special education at UTC.
Gracie Rose Brings High School Stardom to Chattanooga
In a parallel acquisition, Coach Julie Torbett Thomas has also signed Gracie Rose, a high school volleyball standout from Greater Atlanta Christian School. Rose has an impressive record, having led her team to three consecutive Georgia 5A State title game appearances, winning championships in both 2021 and 2022. Over her illustrious high school career, she achieved a remarkable overall record of 114-42.
In her senior season, Rose garnered numerous honors, including AVCA All-America Honorable Mention and being named the Georgia 5A State Player of the Year.
