St. Augustine, Florida — James “Lance” Reddick, a cherished figure in the auto body industry and a beloved family man, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2025, at the age of 76. He spent his final moments at the Community Hospice facility surrounded by his longtime partner Pamela (White) Reddick and their son Josh. Lance’s health had been declining for 17 years due to his battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Lance Reddick was a stalwart in the auto body and collision repair industry. Born to Lemuel and Ruby (Bell) Reddick, he grew up around this field and founded Reddick Auto Body, which he owned and operated from 1975 until his retirement in 2015. His recommendations and expertise were valued by both employees and customers alike.
In addition to his business achievements, Lance served in the U.S. National Guard from 1970 to 1976. His commitment to serving others was evident not only in his military service but also in the compassion he showed towards his family and community.
He is survived by his four children—Justin (Brooke) Reddick, Jordan (Dustin) Hanson, Josh (Jen) Mantooth, and LeAnn (Buddy) Gross—along with six grandchildren: Jacob Mantooth, Myles Hudson, Bella Gross, Katherine Hanson, Florence Reddick, and Sebastian Reddick. Lance also leaves behind his brother Larry Reddick, his niece Storey Reddick, his nephews Tyler and McClain Reddick, his sister-in-law Darlene (Steve) Grace, and his brother-in-law Walter White (Sissy).
A celebration of Lance’s life is planned for June 4, 2025, at The Car Barn located at 6721 Heritage Business Court, Chattanooga, TN 37421. The event will run from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and attendees are requested to honor Lance by wearing Tommy Bahama or Hawaiian shirts. In lieu of flowers, his family requests donations be made to a charity of choice in his name.
Throughout his life, Lance was remembered as a kind and gentle soul with a distinctive dry sense of humor. His contributions to the auto body trade and his unwavering devotion to his family will be fondly recalled and cherished by those whose lives he touched.
The legacy he leaves behind will undoubtedly be honored by the many people who admired and respected him over the years.
