Chattanooga prepares for the beloved community event, Pops on the River, set to take place on Monday, June 3, 2025, at Coolidge Park. This year’s celebration will mark the event’s return after a two-year hiatus caused by funding challenges. The event is free and open to the public, providing an accessible way for families and friends to come together in recognition of Independence Day.

The evening’s festivities will kick off at 6:00 PM with a live performance by Chattanooga Soul, featuring a collection of talented local musicians. Attendees can look forward to a variety of family-friendly activities and eateries, including food trucks and vendor stalls, offering a selection of delicious treats throughout the evening.

As the night progresses, the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera (CSO) will take the stage at 7:20 PM, presenting a special musical performance that is sure to enhance the celebratory atmosphere. Activities will be available for children of all ages in the Kids Zone, which will remain active for the duration of the festivities.

The highlight of the evening will be a stunning fireworks display over the Tennessee River, scheduled to begin at 9:45 PM. This pyrotechnic show is a traditional centerpiece of the event, drawing large crowds who gather to enjoy the colorful explosions lighting up the night sky.

For the convenience of attendees, a free shuttle service will operate from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM. This shuttle will transport visitors between Coolidge Park and the Unum parking lot located on Lookout Street. This service, sponsored by the Chattanooga Lookouts and Unum, is designed to alleviate parking concerns and promote ease of access to the park.

Adjustments made for the 2025 event include revised viewing spots for the fireworks and CSO performances, which will now be accessible from the Walnut Street Bridge. These changes are aimed at improving the viewing experience for attendees.

As attendees prepare for a night of celebration, they are encouraged to bring along blankets and lawn chairs for comfort while enjoying the various activities and performances. This community event is a fantastic opportunity for residents and visitors alike to come together and celebrate Independence Day in a festive atmosphere.

The return of Pops on the River not only symbolizes a return to community engagement after previous challenges but also reinforces Chattanooga’s commitment to providing free, family-friendly events that bring joy and unity to the city. The excitement surrounding this year’s event reflects the anticipation of a memorable night under the stars, filled with music, laughter, and fireworks.

The community is invited to participate in this cherished tradition, fostering a spirit of togetherness and celebration as the nation honors its independence. Mark your calendars for June 3 and get ready to enjoy a spectacular evening at Pops on the River.
