Chattanooga – Robert Edward Lee, Jr., a lifelong resident of Chattanooga, passed away on May 22, 2025, at the age of 72 due to complications related to surgery. His death marks the loss of a beloved member of the community known for his artistic talents and dedication to family and friends.
Born on January 20, 1953, Robert was the son of the late Robert E. Lee, Sr., and Nadine Lee. He graduated from Brainerd High School, where he laid the groundwork for a life filled with creativity and pursuit of passions. Throughout his career, he worked for notable organizations such as Craft Castle and Blue Cross Blue Shield.
Robert was not just a dedicated worker; he also had a passion for the arts. He enjoyed painting, crafting, and collecting antiques. His artwork gained visibility as he showcased his creations in a booth at the Vinterest in Hixson, where he delighted many visitors and clients with his craftsmanship.
A true family man, Robert cherished celebrations and spent many joyful birthdays and holidays surrounded by his loved ones. He is remembered for his warmth and kindness, which fostered cherished relationships with friends and family alike. Robert is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, LuAnn Battaglia, who passed away earlier.
He is survived by his sister, Karen Thomasson (Mark) of Nashville, and his brother-in-law, Joe Battaglia (Tammy). Robert’s family also includes his niece, Emily Brieck (Jon), and her children, Marybelle and Anderson, who reside in Nashville. Another niece, Alanna Battaglia (fiancé Nick Gemo), lives in New Jersey. Additionally, his nephew, Andy Thomasson (Rachel), also lives in Nashville with his children, Maggie and Laurel. Many dear friends remain in the community to cherish his memory.
In honor of his life and contributions, a private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Those wishing to share their thoughts and memories of Robert can do so through the Chattanooga East Chapel website.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Chattanooga Funeral Home East Chapel, located at 404 S. Moore Road, East Ridge, Tennessee.
