His gentle spirit and sense of humor endeared him to family and friends alike, reinforcing his reputation as a compassionate individual who always prioritized the well-being of those around him.
McCormick was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Flossie McCormick, as well as his aunt, Viola Young. He is survived by a close-knit family that includes his ex-wife and friend, Shirley McCormick, along with his daughter and son-in-law, Samantha and Zack Neal. Additionally, he leaves behind a loving extended family, including nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends, all of whom were enriched by his presence.
The family is honoring McCormick’s life with a visitation to be held on Thursday, June 26, and Friday, June 27, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. His funeral service will be conducted at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, in the chapel, with interment to follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
