ROME, GEORGIA – Wendy Weeks Sertel Pharr, a cherished member of the Rome community, passed away on Monday, June 9, 2025, at the age of 52. Her death occurred at a local hospital, leaving behind a family and many friends who will remember her for her vibrant spirit and deep love for her family.

Wendy was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on January 27, 1973. She was the beloved daughter of Laura Coile Gibbs Rutherford and John Rex Sertel, Sr. Unfortunately, Wendy was preceded in death by her brother, Matthew Sertel, and her grandparents: James M. and Laura (BeBe) Gibbs, as well as Dorothy and Granville Sertel.

Wendy’s educational journey began at Marietta High School, where she graduated in 1991. During her high school years, she was actively involved in cheerleading, the Show Choir, and theater, showcasing her talents and passion for the arts. Her interests expanded beyond the schoolyard, as she had a great passion for music, art, and gardening, which remained integral parts of her life.

In addition to her artistic inclinations, Wendy was known for her devotion to her family. She leaves behind her husband, Micah Pharr; her daughter, Audrey Marie Pharr; and her mother, Laura Coile-Rutherford. Her family also includes her father, John Rex Sertel Sr. (Sis); her brother, John Rex Sertel Jr. (Tiffni); her nieces, Greer and Graycen Sertel; her uncle, James F. Gibbs (Cindy); and her aunt, Joan Sertel Coile. She is also survived by her cousins, Ann Marie Crabtree, Jamie, and Austin Gibbs, along with numerous other beloved family members and friends who mourn her loss.

In accordance with her wishes, Wendy will be cremated. Her family plans to hold a memorial service at a later date to honor her memory. The arrangements for Mrs. Wendy Weeks Sertel Pharr are being handled by Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel.

The Roman community remembers Wendy as a kind and loving individual who brought joy to the lives of those around her. Her contributions to family, friends, and the arts will always be remembered, making her departure a significant loss to those who knew and loved her.
