History
East Brainerd developed rapidly after the completion of I-75 through Hamilton County in the 1960s–1970s. Hamilton Place Mall opened in 1987 and accelerated residential and commercial growth throughout the 1990s, making East Brainerd the dominant suburban growth area for the Chattanooga metro for two decades.
