CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — A traffic stop Friday morning in Collegedale led to the arrest of Chattanooga woman Callie Anne Hale on multiple drug and child abuse charges after an officer found illegal drugs and a four-year-old child improperly secured inside the vehicle.

A Collegedale police officer initiated a traffic stop in the 8400 block of Apison Pike after observing a vehicle fail to maintain its lane. During the investigation, the officer identified the driver as 42-year-old Callie Anne Hale of Chattanooga.

Hale was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, unlawfully possessed prescription medications and drug paraphernalia. Officers also discovered a four-year-old child in the vehicle who was not properly secured in a child safety seat.

Hale was taken into custody and charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of Schedule II and Schedule IV controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, child abuse and neglect, and additional traffic-related offenses.

At the time of her arrest, Hale was also facing pending felony drug possession and child endangerment charges in Hamilton County stemming from previous arrests. Hale is scheduled to appear in Collegedale Municipal Court on December 9, 2026.

Collegedale officers said the stop began as a lane-maintenance traffic contact and expanded once controlled substances and the unsecured child were found. Prosecutors will sort the new Collegedale counts alongside the earlier Hamilton County cases already pending against Hale.

Local police said protecting children who depend on responsible adults remains a priority along suburban corridors such as Apison Pike, where Friday morning stop quickly turned into a multi-count drug and child-welfare case tied back to Chattanooga.
